Privacy Policy
This policy applies to the ScanClip iOS app provided by AXISJ Co., Ltd. It explains the information processed by the app and the external services you may choose to use.
Camera and text recognition
The camera is used for live text recognition. Images are processed in memory while recognition runs. The app does not invoke photo capture or save original photos or camera frames as image files. OCR uses Apple’s on-device recognition. The app does not upload images or recognized text to a developer server. Camera access is controlled by iOS permissions.
Information stored in your collection
Collected, copied or manually entered text, creation dates, item identifiers and ordering are stored in the app’s local storage. ScanClip has no account service or app-managed cloud sync, and does not use CloudKit synchronization. Saved items remain on the device until you delete them.
Copying and sharing
Copy writes the selected text to the iOS clipboard. Apple’s Universal Clipboard may apply depending on your device settings. Sharing sends text to the app or service you choose. These copies are handled under that service’s policies and your settings. Deleting text in ScanClip does not automatically delete copies elsewhere.
Advertising, analytics and tracking
The current app includes no advertising, developer analytics or third-party tracking SDKs. The developer does not collect camera images, saved text or usage records through the app. Apple’s App Store, TestFlight and any system diagnostics you allow may process information separately under Apple’s policies and your device settings.
Deletion, permissions and device backups
Delete individual items or use Delete All in the collection to remove locally saved text. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading an app may retain data. You can change camera permission in iOS Settings. Depending on your settings, local app data may be included in iCloud or computer device backups. Backup copies and restoration are managed by Apple’s backup features. Copies in the clipboard, sharing destinations or backups must be managed separately.
Information website and support
This information website is hosted on GitHub Pages and includes no added advertising or analytics scripts. GitHub may process connection information and content you submit when you visit these pages or use GitHub Issues, under its own policies. GitHub Issues are public: do not post personal information, original documents, camera images or other sensitive content. Use the contact link below for privacy questions or help with deletion.
Policy changes
If the app’s data handling changes, we will update this page and its last-updated date, with further notice in the app or store information where appropriate.
